Since 1995, Season Arts has developed its education on the “Reggio Emilia Approach,” an approach that is often regarded as the best preschool education in the world. Building on that, visual arts are viewed as a language, and children are encouraged and given the opportunity to explore the world with their point of view through accumulating authentic experiences. Moreover, Season Arts’ project-based approach emphasizes children to apply the concept of design thinking in their lives to face challenges and solve real-life problems. This way, they learn and become problem solvers with the spirit of a maker. Therefore, we decided to host a Season Arts’ childhood education exhibition, along with the establishment of the new Liming campus. The exhibition was dedicated to share Season Arts’ educational ideals in a domestic setting and develop awareness for more people to see the endless possibilities of education. At the same time, we are encouraging more educators to join the application of the project-based approach to provide a brighter future and education for the children in Taiwan.
After an extended preparation, the exhibition "Season Arts Children Education Institution Grand Opening featuring Kids Education Exhibition" was finally launched at Season Arts’ Liming campus on October 15, 2017. More than 1000 guests visited the new campus, the first preschool ever to receive the Diamond EEWH Award in Taiwan. There were thirteen different areas in the exhibition, including replica classrooms of past theme courses, displays of materials and tools for hands-on activities, art works of children’s self-portraits using distinct materials and styles, and integrations of young maker courses in the ESL program.
These amazing displays of learning progress were the works of Season Arts' family. The dedication and efforts put in by the staff behind the scenes are simply extraordinary, everyone was doing their part to make sure the success of the exhibition. From videos of children’s learning process to their various exhibits, they were the results of all the staff members’ blood and sweat. Endless appreciation goes out to all of them, for their hard work, the astonishing cross-campus collaborations, and the unquenchable enthusiasm for education!
